Cable 8 Productions at Washington State University (1987 - 1991)
I am a graduate of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication located at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.
I spent my time at WSU split between radio & television.  If you'd like to read up on my short radio career click HERE.

Shows I worked on while at WSU: Live at Eight, Video Underground, Talking Sports, Pullman Lights and Cable 8 News

Currently I work for the CBS affiliate in Seattle, Washington (1992 - Present Day)
I have been at KIRO-TV in Seattle since 1992 directing news, parades, air shows, debates, memorials, infomercials... anything & everything.

The John Report with Bob "JRWB"
I finally got the opportunity to direct a sketch comedy show in 2000.  Ever since my college days I had wanted to direct sketch comedy, much like Saturday Night Live, MAD TV or Almost Live! (the old Seattle sketch comedy show this show replaced)  While I was at WSU one of the college shows I wanted to direct was called "Live at Eight", essentially a college age sketch comedy show.  I was passed over and ended up directing a talk show and a music video program.  Although The John Report with Bob only lasted 2 years, it was by far the best directing experience I've had in television.  Here is a link(s) to some of the segments that aired during the JRWB days.

Star Search Seattle / Seattle's Stars
Music, singing and judges... who knew this would be such a success?  Seattle's version of American Idol and Star Search.
Taking what worked best on the national shows KIRO-TV formatted a show with 3 judges and 6 contestants.  Head to head singing, eliminating the
weaker performer after being reviewed by our 3 judges proved to be an audience favorite.  All the shows were done at KIRO-TV's studio B with a live
studio audience.  The final show each year was done LIVE right out of the final NCAA basketball game in March.  The show was an amazing
opportunity as a director to work with "street" talent (singers) & non-TV judges with a studio audience.

SEAFAIR - Torchlight Parade & Blue Angels Airshow
KIRO-TV is the "SEAFAIR" station for Seattle and covers a great deal of the local SEAFAIR events live!  I have been involved with the hydroplane races, Blue Angels air show and Torchlight parade since 1992.  KIRO does an excellent job covering these events on a grand scale (for local TV, it's almost unheard of any longer) and has won many Emmy awards for the programs and technical coverage!
